With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Christopher Colby Walden—a devoted husband, son, brother, and friend—who was lost to addiction in 2019. Christopher was not only a successful realtor; he was a beacon of joy, warmth, and laughter in the lives of everyone he met. His spirit shone brightly in his passions for lake time with friends and family, wake surfing, and his adored bulldog, Miley. He found solace in the beautiful landscapes of Maui, where he met his wife Sasha and his adventurous soul could truly thrive.
In honor of Christopher’s vibrant life and in response to the challenges posed by addiction, his family founded the Christopher Walden Foundation of Hope in 2020. This non-profit organization embodies the love and support that Christopher brought to so many. Our mission is to provide critically needed recovery resources in Alaska, with the hope that no more families will endure the heartache of losing a loved one to addiction. We believe every life is worth saving.
Since its founding, the Christopher Walden Foundation of Hope has made a significant impact in our community. We are proud to have partnered with Set Free Alaska and True North Recovery to open two residential recovery houses, the Christopher Walden House of Hope in Palmer and Fairbanks, and helped launch a youth day treatment program with VOA Alaska. Our partnership with VOA Alaska further strengthens our efforts to provide a nurturing environment for young people seeking a path to recovery through the Christopher Walden School of Hope and the VOA Alaska ARCH program. Together, we are building a supportive network of hope and healing.
