FAQs

Why are we building the CWHOH?

We’re launching this initiative to provide Alaska with the much-needed local addiction therapy that is low-cost, non-profit, and long-term. Our mission is for no parent or family member to ever endure what Christopher’s family experienced when their son needed help so badly and had little to no local options available.

What services will be offered?

The scope of addiction therapy services will be determined by our treatment center operators and the required licensing. Our goal is to provide a full-service recovery program.

Where will the House be located?

The location of the Christopher Walden House of Hope is yet to be determined but will be based on the rehabilitation therapy program we partner with. Our intent is for the house to be location in Anchorage, Wasilla, or Palmer.

Who will we partner with?

Currently, no final commitments have been made. We feel that it is important for the foundation to carefully review all options. We are actively building relationships with several local recovery providers to identify a common goal and mission.

When will the house be completed?

The house will be completed once the funds have been raised and we’ve chosen a recovery partner to head the treatment program.

How will the program be funded?

Funding will come from private donors like yourself, community partners, and state and federal grants. The estimated cost for this project is $1.5-2 million.
